Research interests

My research is composed of different fields in computer science that are partially related to Economics, Medicine, Psychology and  Bioimaging.

These are the main topics that I currently work on:

Ecommerce and Information Disclosure

In modern markets, information platforms (e.g., comparison shopping, dating, and car purchasing websites) might find it beneficial to disclose only part of their sellers' information to the users to affect their purchase decision for maximizing their own expected profit. My research focuses on the usage of selective information disclosure to avoid external competition by competing platforms; update users' beliefs regarding its attractiveness based on intelligently controlling the order according to which results are presented to the user; and the importance of information disclosure when setting the service terms of the platforms' usage fees.

Kidney Exchange

Kidney exchange aims to reduce the transplant organ supply-demand imbalance by making it easier to match willing donors to needy patients. A person in need of a kidney may have one or more healthy donors who are willing but unable to donate a kidney due to a medical incompatibility. These incompatible donor patient pairs can exchange donors with other pairs, through cycles or chains of exchanges, in such a way that each involved pair’s donor gives to a (medically compatible) patient of another pair.
My research, which focuses on dynamic barter markets and kidney exchange in particular, provides the first mechanism that is both strategy-proof and efficient for these settings.

Voting and Persuasion

In some voting systems, the organizer has its own preferences over the list of candidates. After the initial vote, the organizer can approach some of the voters in order to sway their preferences while not harming their individual interests. My research provides an intelligent method for deciding which voters to approach and what strategic voting would likely lead to this desired outcome.
